Daniel 3:18 Olive Sponge Fleece

The hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through was carrying a healthy baby full term to have her still born. The second hardest thing was to navigate life after the loss. Daniel 3 tells the story of Shadrach, Meshach & Abendnego. King Nebuchadnezzar creates a golden statue that he requires everyone to bow down to. Shadrach, Meshach & Abendnego are respectful to King Neb, but refuse to bow before his statue. Verses 17-18 “if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, & he will deliver us from your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” King Neb did not like what they had to say and the three of them are thrown into a fiery furnace, but they emerge, unscathed, without a single hair on their head burnt. King Neb is impressed and promotes the three to public positions and praises their God.

Sometimes the answers we get when we pray are hard to swallow. The road we travel is not an easy one. It feels like we have been dropped in that fiery furnace, but He is still good. He is still my hope.
